THE GOLDen Chip

This was my senior thesis in college. It tells the story of a robot who wants to be an explorer, leading to an encounter with a robot pirate.

At the time, this was the longest and most complicated project I had ever taken a shot at. I really enjoyed seeing how the final product came together, but I admit that I would’ve preferred to have had some voice actors available. Since I made the entire animation by my lonesome, I recorded all of the dialogue myself and digitally changed the pitch for each character.

This is definitely something I want to revisit, having improved and learned a bit. I’d like to take the same look, but give the story more personality and variety. I think “robot pirates” is one of those concepts that offers a lot thanks to its goofiness.
